GUIDE BOOK TO NEW SOUTH WALES PART 1.
I am compiling a Guide Book to New South Wales through people’s stories. This is the part of Australia that I live. It isa vast area that has cities such as Sydney and Byron Bay as well as some incredible mountain ranges, including one where you can ski and some of the most beautiful beaches you canimagine. So why the hell not? I think it’s about time we shook up the Guide Book industry and focussed more on word of mouth recommendations for the modern traveller, showcasing more than the usual highlights and encompassing a range of areas and cultures. And, of course, to inspire more travel!
From a young age I always wanted to create a beautiful book of travel stories. My Dad was a publisher and it’s something I have talked about for about for years. So now is the time to put my money where my mouth is, starting with Sydney and NSW.
This year I want to build up the MICMAD travel website creating a hub of travel stories from around the world, giving shout-outs to all the contributors on Instagram and Facebook. The blog is a great place for people to get some top insider information and inspiration to some awesome travel destinations around the world.
The NSW guide book gives me a focal point and a local project for me to focus on and build up a community here in Sydney. It also gives me and my travel-loving community the opportunity to get out and be inspired by all the amazing places in our region. The aim is aguide book to Sydney and NSW through people’s stories and tips, as well as using photos and maps. It’s going to have the feel of a word of mouth recommendation from a trusted source whilst looking absolutely fabulous for personal use or as a gift.
It’s important that the guide book shows all aspects of New South Wales including things you might not find in a guide book, aimed at people who would normally seek out advice from locals when they arrive somewhere.
I want it to be informative, historical, cultural and fun. It has to be truly inspirational for your next trip. I can’t wait to share more details as the project grows. Right now I am recruiting my trusted team for this exciting adventure. Any questions or interested contributors, please get in touch via email. I would love to hear from you. Looking forward to getting this going!
Watch this space as I look to take my first steps into publishing my first ever guide book to NSW.
As ever are you someone with an interesting story to share? Do you know someone I should speak to? Any pointers would be greatly appreciated. Stay tuned more updates will be coming on the MICMAD Guide to NSW and I want you involved so get in touch with any top destinations, experiences, hangouts and photos. I would love to hear from you.
